Miller® Big Blue® 400 Pipe Pro® Diesel Welder With ArcReach® 907703001 The Miller® Big Blue® 400 Pipe Pro® is a 400 amp, multi-process diesel engine welder that is designed specifically for transmission pipeline welding. It has superior downhill stick arc characteristics and is capable of MIG and flux-cored welding with proper accessories. The Mitsubishi SL42 four cylinder diesel engine is EPA Tier 4F compliant and is engineered to operate over 10,000 hours before the first basic overhaul. The Big Blue 400 Pipe Pro comes standard with Miller ArcReach®. The ArcReach feature allows the Big Blue to communicate with a remote Miller® ArcReach® wire feeder or ArcReach® Stick/TIG remote without the use of a remote control cable. The secret to this technology is built-in circuitry in both the Big Blue 400 Pipe Pro welder and Miller ArcReach wire feeder/remote control that passes remote control signals through the welding leads, eliminating the need for costly remote control cables. ArcReach remote control distance is limited only by the length of your welding cable leads. ArcReach allows your Stick, TIG, MIG or Flux-Cored welding operation to take place further away from the welding power source and reduces downtime and costs by giving the operator full remote control capabilities at the site of the weld without using expensive remote control cables. The Big Blue 400 Pipe Pro MUST be paired with a Miller ArcReach feeder or ArcReach Stick/TIG remote to get the full benefits of this feature. The Big Blue 400 Pipe Pro produces up to 400 amps of welding output at 100% duty cycle and provides 12,000 peak watts of auxiliary power. It is capable of carbon arc gouging using up to 1/4" diameter carbons. When paired with the appropriate wire feeder, it can perform MIG, Pulsed MIG, RMD® and flux-cored welding operations. Processes Stick (SMAW) MIG (GMAW) Flux-cored (FCAW) RMD® Pulsed MIG (GMAW-P) DC TIG (GTAW) Air carbon arc (CAC-A) Rated: 1/4-inch (6.4 mm) carbons Applications Heavy Industrial Applications Cross-country pipeline Process pipe welding Features: Remote control of the power source without a cord. ArcReach® allows you to change weld settings from your ArcReach feeder or remote, saving a trip to the power supply. ArcReach technology uses the existing weld cable to communicate welding control information between the feeder or remote and the power source. This technology eliminates the need for control cords, and their associated problems and costs. Designed for the transmission pipeline welder. The Big Blue 400 PipePro offers superior downhill stick arc characteristics, as well as MIG/flux-cored capabilities, to meet high-strength steel requirements for the most demanding pipeline jobs. Mitsubishi S4L2 four-cylinder diesel engine. Designed to operate over 10,000 hours before the first basic overhaul. Backed by worldwide support and service. Quiet at only 72.1 dba (97 Lwa) at 23 ft at maximum output. Improves work site communication. Digital meters with SunVision™ technology enable welding parameters to be viewed with greater clarity than analog meters — at virtually any angle. Meters can be seen clearly even in direct sunlight. Meters display Process settings for quick and easy setup Preset and actual amperage Simple-to-set controls require no elaborate procedure— just select process and weld! Industrial USB port. Quickly upload the latest software and download machine log files to retrieve in-depth information such as diagnostics and machine statistics. Low OCV stick (VRD) reduces the open-circuit voltage to 15 volts when the welding power source is not in use, increasing operator safety without compromising arc starts. Arc control allows arc characteristics to be adjusted in stick and wire processes. In stick modes, unlock the benefits of the all-new Miller® Dynamic DIG program, which gives welders the fine-tuning they need to overcome issues related to fitup and inconsistencies in the pipe. Standard 14-pin receptacle with Auto-Remote Sense™ for simple connection of remote controls and wire feeders. 10,000 watts of pure generator power. Plug in an extra Miller® inverter-based power source for a second welding arc! LINE-X® top cover is workbench tough and provides superior impact, corrosion and abrasion protection. Standard features include adjustable Hot Start™, output contactor control, automatic idle, thermal overload protection and 120-volt block heater.
